Gandhiji received his primary education in Porbandar. In 1887, he went to London to study law. He returned to India in 1891 after passing the bar exam. Gandhiji began his legal practice in Rajkot, but soon moved to South Africa to work as a lawyer for an Indian Muslim merchant.
